Head of Brand, Marketing & Growth

We're looking for a very good marketer who believes marketing is changing fundamentally, and wants to be ahead of it.

The businesses

We run four independent food and hospitality businesses, with combined turnover of about £9.5m:

The brands are deliberately different. We don't want them to look or sound the same. We want one small, very effective marketing team behind all four.

The role

You'll care about brands, food, design and culture. You'll be just as interested in Shopify conversion, customer data, paid acquisition and automation.

The question we want you asking all the time: is there a better way to do this?

AI and automation

We think AI can make a small marketing team much more capable. You should already be using it in your own work: creative, customer insight, ecommerce, CRM, paid media, reporting.

You don't need to know every tool. We want you to find the useful ones before we do, test them properly, and keep the ones that make the work better. Every few months you should be showing us something we didn't know was possible.

Targets

This is a commercial job. You'll have numbers to hit.

You'll own the marketing budget. We expect you to keep asking whether each pound is well spent, and whether each job should be done in-house, automated, bought in or stopped.

What you'll own

Who we're looking for

We care more about how you think than where you've worked.

You might be a Head of Marketing, Senior Marketing Manager or Growth Lead ready for a bigger role. You might come from food, hospitality, ecommerce, retail, a consumer brand, tech or an agency.

You'll have:

This isn't a job for a pure performance marketer, or for someone who thinks marketing means Instagram. We have no interest in using AI to churn out mediocre content.

How to apply

Email your CV to careers@toklas.co.uk with short answers to three questions:

  1. What are three ways you've used AI or automation in your marketing work in the last 12 months?
  2. What new marketing tool or approach have you found recently that you think really matters?
  3. What have you stopped spending time or money on because you found a better way?

Please write the answers yourself. We want to know what you've actually tried, not how impressive it sounds.
